YHA CASTLETON
YHA Castleton is an 18th century hall and adjacent 19th century vicarage situated in the very heart of Castleton village. The local area provides excellent study opportunities for primary biology, science and geography and secondary biology and geography, without the need for transport. The village itself is an ideal settlement for contrasting locality studies.
The Youth Hostel is within easy walking distance of Castleton caves and mines, the Norman Castle, Mam Tor, the 13th century church and Losehill Hall, the Peak District National Park Study Centre.

YHA CROWDEN
Situated in the Peak District, Crowden is a popular overnight stop on the Pennine Way. Groups are welcome at this comfortably refurbished row of former quarrymen’s cottages. There is plenty to do here besides exploring the rugged countryside on foot. The Longdendale Valley is also renowned for sightings of UFOs, Roman legions and strange lights!

EDALE YHA ACTIVITY CENTRE
YHA Edale is a large country house, set in its own grounds on the hillside of the Kinder Plateau with magnificent views of Mam Tor and Lose Hill. Programmes of study in subjects such as transport, quarrying, impact of mineral extraction, settlements, upland farming plus management and land use can all be delivered from YHA Edale in partnership with Losehill Hall.
The centre is registered with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority to provide specified activities under the following headings: caving, climbing, trekking and watersports.

YHA HARTINGTON HALL
In the Heart of the Peak District National Park at the north end of Dovedale, Hartington Hall is a magnificent 17th century manor house on the edge of the village. The building retains many of its period features such as oak panelling, open fireplaces and boasts a room where Bonnie Prince Charlie once slept.
Core activities for study in the village include economic development, the effects of tourism and farming and sustainable land management.

This Victorian house is on the edge of the village of Hathersage, which has associations with both Little John and Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. It is on the White Peak Way circular walk and is overlooked by Stanage Edge, which attracts climbers of all abilities. Only six miles from Castleton and the Blue John show caves, and within easy reach of Ladybower Dam.

YHA RAVENSTOR
YHA Ravenstor is a former mill owner's house and has retained the air of a grand country mansion, complete with log fires and an oak staircase. Situated in the White Peak limestone area of the Peak District, YHA Ravenstor has 50 acres of wooded grounds, bordered by the River Wye.
The hostel provides ideal study opportunities for ecology, geology and biology either in the grounds of the centre or in the close vicinity, including a number of environmental education programmes run by staff from Losehill Hall.

Breaks4Kids
Breaks4Kids helps to fund places for disadvantaged children, so they can join their friends or classmates on a residential visit with YHA. The short application process makes applying for funding assistance easy. Applications are considered on the basis of the number of children in the group who are entitled to free school meals, or in a family that receives income support and/or housing benefit.
