Langsett Conservation Area Appraisal and Proposed Boundary Extension
The Peak District National Park Authority, in partnership with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Sheffield City Council, has prepared a draft Conservation Area Appraisal for the Langsett Conservation Area. This includes two proposed extensions to the existing boundary. Both proposed extensions are within the part of the Langsett Conservation Area that lies within the Peak District National Park.
The Authority has a duty to review Conservation Areas periodically and as part of this process a Conservation Area Appraisal is prepared. The purpose of an Appraisal is to identify the special architectural and historic qualities that make a place worthy of designation as a Conservation Area.
The public consultation period for the draft Langsett Conservation Area Appraisal and proposed boundary amendments was held from the 12 November to 23 December 2009. The Appraisal and proposed boundary extensions will be presented at the Authority’s Planning Committee on 12 March 2010.
