Waterfall Pinfold Restoration
The
Waterhouses Parish Action Plan (of which Waterfall is part) identified at a 'Wish List' event in July
2000 the objective of: "Maintenance of the Pinfold/Historic sites".
Through
the plan the Waterhouses Action group were able to identify this as one of their key projects. A proposal
was drawn up to undertake restoration of the pinfold, which had deteriorated over recent years, to its
former condition.
By applying for Objective 2 funding from the Peak District
National Park Authority, the Waterhouses Action Group claimed a 100% grant of almost £400 to restore
the entrance and flooring in late 2003.
The Action Group gained further
funding for the complete restoration through the Rural Regeneration North East Staffordshire Village
Agent programme.
