Making a valid planning application

Correctly completed planning application forms get processed more quickly.

Use this page or contact the planning service team to find and download the correct guidance notes and checklist for your application.

We recommend the following steps to ensure a troublefree and smooth application:

1. Establish which application is right for your situation - phone us if you are not sure. Please note most applications falls into the first two categories.
2. Read and understand the appropriate guidance notes
3. Print out the appropriate checklist asnd include it with your application
4. Gather  whatever information you can for each of the items on the checklist
5. Visit the Planning Portal website when you are ready to start your application - how to use the Planning Portal
6. Complete your application online
