New householder appeals process
The
Peak District National Park Authority has recently signed
up to join the “Fast Track Householder Appeals” pilot. This makes the whole appeals process easier
to understand and take part in, and reduces the
time it takes for appeals to be decided.
The pilot scheme has been running successfully since January 2008 and, subject to the proposed change in legislation, the scheme will be rolled out in April 2009.
Householder appeals processed under the streamlined approach in the pilot have been decided in 12 weeks or fewer – at least four weeks sooner than the current process allows. With changes to legislation due to come in to force in April 2009, this target will change to eight weeks.
