SDF Panel Members
Harry Bowell – Chair of the Sustainable Development Fund Panel and member of the Peak District National Park Authority, appointed by the Secretary of State.
Tracy Critchlow – Vice Chair of the Sustainable Development Fund Panel and member of the Peak District National Park Authority, appointed by Derbyshire Dales District Council.
Joan Bennett – Programme Manager at the Nottingham Declaration Partnership, a partnership of the key organisations that provide advice on climate change to local government. Joan was a Sustainable Development Consultant, both freelance and with CAG Consultants prior to this and specialised in advising on how local government could support sustainable development.
Alistair Boyd – Alistair has a broad mix of skills including engineering, finance and business management. His role as Manager of Castleton Youth Hostel has also given Alistair experience in educational development, group training, leading group walks, media, craft training, project planning, fundraising and as an NVQ assessor.
Peter O'Brien – Planning and Design Advisor for Transform South Yorkshire, a Government housing market renewal pathfinder. As well as working with TSY he also works in the East Midlands as part of the Sheffield City Region initiative to address issues of design quality and sustainability. Prior to this Peter was Head of Design and Environmental Planning at Sheffield City Council and was responsible for public arts, access for people with disabilities, countryside planning, heritage, archaeology services, landscape and urban design. Peter is an accredited “Building for Life” assessor and has also been a Governor of an inner city, multi-ethnic primary school in Sheffield for over 10 years.
Nicola Percival – Senior Sustainability Manager at Bovis Lend Lease, an international property group. Nicola is a Chartered Environmentalist with over seven years of experience in the sustainability field. Nicola set up and now runs “Bollington Carbon Revolution”, a local group aiming to reduce the town’s carbon footprint.
Steve Stones – Director of Pro Enviro Ltd, a knowledge management consultancy specialising in sustainable development, resource efficiency and energy management. Steve also has over twenty years management experience in the aerospace, automotive, food processing and distribution sectors
Penny Ward – Community Development Worker and Health Trainer based at the Farming Life Centre in Blackwell. Penny looks at ways to support the health and well being of local farming communities and is running a Social Therapeutic and Horticultural garden project. Prior to this, Penny was a Village Agent for the Staffordshire Moorlands CVS, helping communities to identify their needs and develop sustainable, environmental, business and group projects.
Plus two Year 10 students from Hope Valley College – currently Jamie Benson and Alice Shaw.
