HOW DO I GET TO LOSEHILL HALL?

BY RAILWAY:

Those travelling by train should head for Hope Station (two miles from Losehill Hall) on the Sheffield to Manchester line. When asking for your ticket please say you are going to Hope in Derbyshire.

There is no taxi rank at Hope Station so please contact us for telephone numbers of local taxi firms and book a taxi at least two weeks in advance of your visit. The cost is approximately £5 per trip.

BY BUS:

An hourly bus service is available from Sheffield Bus station. The bus station is 200 metres from the main railway station and provides an alternative method of travel if your train has been cancelled or delayed.

BY ROAD:

Losehill Hall is half a mile east of Castleton, Derbyshire.

the best exit points from the motorways are:
northbound on M1 - exit 29 to A617
southbound on M1 - exit 36 to A61 and then on to the A57
northbound on M6 - exit 14 to the A34 and then on to the A520
southbound on M6/M56/M60 - exit 27 on to the M60 and then on to the A6

The road to the west of Castleton is closed. If you are travelling by car or minibus this doesn't matter as you can reach Castleton via an unclassified road (formerly A625) from Chapel-en-le-Frith, or the B6061 from Buxton.
Access to Castleton is possible by travelling down the Winnats Pass. Please see the large scale map for detail.
Beware: the signposting deliberately misleads traffic to avoid Winnats Pass. Follow the brown sign to ‘Castleton Caves / Peveril Castle / Animal Farm’.
