A number of Community Transport Schemes operate in the area using accessible vehicles to assist people who are unable to use ordinary public transport. All of the schemes are registered charities and are under contract to Derbyshire County Council to provide Dial-a-Bus and Group Hire services.

The Peak District National Park Authority subsidises most of the Community Transport Schemes to operate 'Scenic Derbyshire Tours' from May to October. The 16-seat vehicles are fully accessible and can accommodate wheelchair passengers. These services are open to local elderly and/or disabled residents and to visitors to the area.
