Art in the Park

Key Stage: 2

Locations: Various, including Tideswell Dale, Losehill Hall or your Youth Hostel/residential centre – please contact us for further information

Duration: Art in the Park is available as a half or full day.  It may also be undertaken as a short evening activity on a residential stay

‘Art in the Park’ provides children with the opportunity to gain an understanding and appreciation of the natural world.  It is an artistic adventure which explores environmental issues and concerns, and promotes individual responsibility and teamwork. Using their creativity and imagination, children are inspired and challenged to see the natural world in a new way, while focusing on plants and animals featured in the Peak District Biodiversity Action Plan

Learning Objectives:

  • Art and design, knowledge, skills and understanding
  • Geographical enquiry and skills, knowledge and understanding
  • Scientific enquiry, life processes and living thing
  • Sustainable development, citizenship and PSHE

Activities depend on length of day booked.  They may include:

  • Land art
  • Boggarts
  • Biodiversity balls
  • Story-telling with puppets
