Moorland Discovery Centre
The Moorland Discovery Centre is a sustainably built lifelong learning centre, aimed at encouraging groups of all ages to experience our wonderful moorland in the Peak District National Park.
The centre is set in the grounds of the National Trust's Longshaw Estate surrounded by some of the most spectacular areas of the Peak District National Park, but still just over 7 miles from Sheffield. The estate is made up of large areas of moorland, woodland and farmland. There is also easy access to ponds and rivers with wonderful views and walks.
The centre was established to work with local schools and communities, particularly from disadvantaged areas of Sheffield and Chesterfield. It is run in partnership between the National Trustand the Peak District National Park Authorityon behalf of the Moors for the Future Partnership.
It can also be booked by groups who wish to run their own meetings or courses.
