Memorials for loved ones

Many people want to commemorate their loved ones in a place that was special to them.

The Peak District National Park is full of such landscapes where people find enjoyment or spiritual uplift in the beautiful countryside.

If you would like to remember someone by putting something positive back into the area, you can do so through the Memorial Landscape Fund.

A donation to the Fund creates a lasting legacy by helping to fund projects that protect the Peak District’s natural beauty, wildlife and heritage - ensuring they continue to enrich people’s lives now and in the future.

The Memorial Landscape Fund supports projects such as:

  • creation or restoration of wildlife habitats
  • footpath, wall or bridge restoration
  • landscaping projects in villages
  • woodland or tree-planting
  • archaeological conservation
  • educational facilities and experiences for young people
  • information panels and leaflets.

We can no longer fulfil requests for memorial benches or plaques, but donors can specify where they would like the donation to be used, or on what type of project.  We offer all donors the opportunity to have the names of their loved ones recorded in a Commemoration Book that will always be available on request.

If you would like to make a donation please send a cheque made payable to the Peak District National Park Authority in an envelope marked for the Memorial Landscape Fund to:
