Privacy Notice

The information that you provide in your planning application will be processed by the Peak District National Park Authority (PDNPA).  We are currently registered as a data controller for this purpose with the Information Commissioner's Office.  Our registration number is Z7027992.

How we process your information

We process personal information that we receive directly from you when you submit a planning application to the PDNPA.

We process your personal information indirectly when we receive notification from the Planning Portal that a planning application has been submitted to the PDNPA via their online portal.

Why do we process your information

We process your personal information for the purposes of validating, registering and determining your planning application.  All planning applications received by the PDNPA are processed in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

What will we use your information for

Your information will be used by PDNPA for the purpose of registering, validating and determining the planning application submitted. The information will be made available on the public register, together with your name and address as well as the details of the agent if applicable. Your personal email address, signatures, contact numbers and any financial information will be redacted from public viewing but we will hold this information on our planning system and it will be available to relevant staff within the PDNPA. We do not generally request medical information; however if you choose to submit health information in support of your application, it will not be published or shared without your explicit consent.

Your information will be used to contact you in the following situations:

  1. To provide you with an update on your application
  2. To discuss aspects of your application
  3. If a site visit is necessary
  4. If the application is revised
  5. If the application is to be heard at committee
  6. When the application has been decided
  7. If an appeal is lodged
  8. If the application is withdrawn

Information Security and Data Sharing

Your information is stored securely within our electronic planning system; redacted versions of your application and associated documents are published on the planning search pages of our website.

Your application information (excluding personal contact numbers, email address and signatures) will be shared with other statutory consultees such as constituent Highways Agencies, constituent District and County Councils, Parish Councils, Environment Agency, Natural England, Historic England and utility companies.  We may share your application information with other consultee groups based on the nature of the application submitted and the area in which the development is proposed.  We also notify local residents of the application in order that they can comment on the scheme.

Accuracy of your information

We will process the information based on what you have put in your application. If you note any inaccuracies, please contact us on 01629 816200 so that we can correct the information.

Retention

All planning applications are held on a public register and will not be deleted as they are used for the purpose of searches in connection with land charges and property purchases

Transferring Data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA)

We will not transfer your information outside of the EEA, however anyone who has access to the internet can view planning applications on our planning search pages, or locate the details via internet search engines.
