One of the most effective ways we can use public transport is during holidays and breaks, when there's more time on our side.
The Peak District enjoys an extensive public transport network, enabling you to have a full day out exploring the area without using the car. Getting to the Peak District couldn'nt be easier by train or bus, and regular services link many of the area's popular destinations. Simply click on one of the leaflet links below to see for yourself how easy it is to explore the area by public transport.

Arrive by bus and enjoy discounted entry to many attractions across the area, simply use the voucher in the guide and show your bus ticket at your chosen attraction.
Two new leaflets have been developed, aiming to introduce visitors to different parts of the Peak District.
Hope and Hathersage, both located in the Hope Valley are well served by buses and trains and offer a host of things to see and do in the area, download the leaflets and see for yourself!
An interesting village to wander around, the map inside the leaflet highlights points of interest , local businesses and signposts to websites for further information.
Explore the countryside around Hope via the gentle walk outlined in the leaflet, perhaps followed by time in the village enjoying the local facilities.
The Monsal Trail is a traffic free route through some of the Peak District’s most spectacular limestone dales. The trail runs along the former Midland Railway line for 8.5 miles between Blackwell Mill, 3 miles south of Buxton and Coombs Road, Bakewell.
Five new guides have been written for 2012 showing how to get the Monsal Trail from Manchester, Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham and Chesterfield. Bus and train timetables are included in each guide.

Tideswell-an interesting village to explore with a maze of quaint alleyways and narrow lanes. Meander and explore the streets and alleys climbing up to the top of the village and enjoy the view over Tideswell and surrounding countryside. Tideswell offers many traditional shops and eating places to enjoy, many serving local produce.
Nearby Tideswell Dale offers a flat all weather path through beautiful countryside totally accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, along the route spot the wooden sculptures.
