Weather update Thursday 9 February 2012

Whilst we always try to operate as usual whatever the weather, adverse conditions occasionally mean we need to have different working patterns or opening hours.

This page will be updated when one or more of our offices or facilities is shut.  We will update the page as soon as we know of changes, however if the information appears out of date or you are concerned that conditions may change please phone or email the relevant office or centre.

All cycle trails (including Monsal Trail and tunnels)

All trails are exceptionally icy due to the recent adverse weather.

Monsal Trail & tunnels
During the current spell of cold weather, ice has been forming on the track in the tunnels along the trail. The track has been gritted, but please take extra care in the tunnels as these areas do not benefit from the sunshine and may remain icy even when other areas of the trail are ice-free.

Trail Rangers will be monitoring the situation for the duration of this cold spell and may have to close sections of the trail if conditions become dangerous.
