EXPECTED SOON ON HIGH COURT CASE
A legal ruling on the status of the Lees Cross and Endliffe quarries is expected within the next few weeks.
A two-day hearing took place in the High Court in London on 18 and 19 May, and Judge Moore-Bick has retired to consider his decision.
Quarrying company Stancliffe Stone launched the High Court action, challenging the Peak District National Park Authority's decision to list the quarries as dormant under the 1995 Environment Act.
The Authority is continuing its discussions with interested parties on all issues surrounding the quarries, which are located at Stanton Moor near Matlock.
