"IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY..." BRING YOUR OWN TEDDY!
If you like teddy bears and are looking for something a bit different to do with the family this weekend then take yourself along to Macclesfield Forest!
National Park rangers and United Utilities have organised a Teddy Bears Picnic to take place on Sunday 2 May 2004.
Area ranger, Hazel Winder, said, "Teddy Bears are invited to bring their people along to the Forest Yard, at Macclesfield Forest any time between 11.00am and 2.00pm and don't forget to bring your picnic!"
The event is free and is suitable for all the family. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Picnickers need to bring a picnic lunch, warm drink and a teddy bear and are advised to wear suitable outdoor clothing and stout footwear.
For further details about this event or other activities throughout the year, contact Ranger Hazel Winder on 01260 252832.
Macclesfield Forest is a renowned beauty spot within easy reach of Buxton, Manchester and other towns. The land is owned by United Utilities and used for water catchment but thousands of people of all ages enjoy it for walking, bird watching and picnicking.
