Evening 'surgeries' with National Park planners

Peak District National Park planners are holding three evening 'surgeries' for those who need advice closer to home or out of normal office-hours.

Whether they want to ask about a house-extension, a barn-conversion, renewable energy project or new business premises, residents will be able to get individual advice from a planning officer.

The surgeries are all held from 5pm to 7:30pm at:

  • Warslow Village Hall, Warslow                                Wed September 12 2007
  • Chapel-en-le-Frith Town Hall                                    Mon November 12 2007
  • National Park HQ, Aldern House, Bakewell           Mon January 14 2008

People can book a time-slot by phoning the Peak District National Park Authority Customer Services team on 01629 816200, or simply turn up on the night.

The surgeries are aimed at making the planning process more user-friendly. Planning committee chair Barbara Wilson said: “It’s important that we help people get the answers they need before they send in a planning application or start work – saving everyone time and money.

“Planning is key to protecting this special place, and it’s our job to explain what our planning policies are. It saves everyone a lot of time and frustration and helps us get the best planning solutions for the area.”

For further details of the surgeries please contact: Wendy Ruddick, planning liaison officer 01629 816328
