Volunteers building a wallJust three weeks remain for people to nominate inspiring individuals, groups or projects for the 2015 UK National Parks Volunteer Awards.

The Awards are a way of thanking volunteers for the thousands of hours of service they offer up each year to help make our National Parks some of Britain's most treasured landscapes.

Organised by UK National Parks the awards recognise the unsung heroes whose hard work and commitment helps protect the Peak District and 14 other national parks in Britain.

The awards will be given in four categories: individual (over 25 years old), young person (under 25 years old), group, and project.

Winners of the group and project awards will receive a £1,000 bursary to help towards future volunteering activity. The winning individual and young person will each receive his or her choice of clothing from outdoor specialist and UK National Parks brand partner Merrell.

To nominate a deserving individual, young person, group, or project visit: www.nationalparks.gov.uk/aboutus/jobs/2015-national-parks-volunteer-awards

The deadline for nominations is midnight on Sunday September 20. The winners will be announced in November.
