The Peak District National Park’s Learning and Discovery team has been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge. The team lead outdoor group visits across the national park and works in partnership with United Utilities and the National Trust to manage learning centres at Longendale and Longshaw.
Awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, the badge recognises that the team:
- offers high quality teaching and learning experiences; and
- manages risk effectively.
Sarah Wilks, Learning and Discovery team leader said: “We are delighted with the news and I’m really pleased for the team because it shows the high quality of learning we provide.
“It is important because it gives the schools we work with assurance of what we offer and also cuts down on health and safety paperwork.’’
The LOtC Quality Badge is only awarded to providers who have pledged to participate in an on-going process to sustain high quality learning outside the classroom.
