The Peak District National Park Trust is looking for people who are passionate about fundraising to help look after the UK’s first national park.
Applicants with skills and experience in partnership development, charity governance, fundraising, and finance, are being sought to form the first Board of Trustees for the ground breaking new charity.
The charity is just one of a number of initiatives launched by the Peak District National Park Authority designed to help attract a wider range of support and let more people to benefit from all that the National Park has to offer.
Lesley Roberts, who chairs the shadow Trustee board said: “We are looking for exceptional, pioneering people from diverse backgrounds with the experience and drive to develop a range of fundraising channels that will generate substantial income to help care for the Peak District National Park for all to enjoy.”
“This is a special opportunity to be instrumental in shaping the future of our National Park, developing a new culture of philanthropy in support of one of the country’s best loved assets, for today and future generations.”
The trustees will be responsible for overseeing the work of the charity, including developing the charity’s philanthropy, supporter and external funding programme by helping to secure support for projects that care for the Peak District National Park and improve accessibility.
The first Trustee Board will have three trustees appointed from Peak District National Park Authority members, and four independent trustees. The trustees are unpaid, voluntary roles.
The Peak District National Park Trust is applying for registration with the charity commission as an independent charitable incorporated organisation (CIO).
