Long serving member retires from the Peak District National Park Authority

Councillor Judith Twigg has retired as a member from the Peak District National Park Authority after 24 years in the role.
Cllr Twigg was first appointed in 1992 to represent local community interests on the National Park Authority. She was vice chair of the Authority’s planning committee from July 2012 to May 2013.
Cllr Lesley Roberts, speaking at the Peak District National Park Authority meeting today (May 25), said: “Cllr Twigg has given sterling service to the Authority and the local community over the years. Her knowledge of planning and the planning history of the area has been particularly useful.”
Cllr Twigg represented the Peak District National Park Authority on the Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership Rural Forum, Derbyshire Health and Wellbeing Board, Derbyshire Partnership Forum, Derwent Valley Community Rail Partnership, Hope Valley and High Peak Community Rail Partnership, Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire Local Authority Investor Group, Peak District Partnership.
Cllr Twigg has been a Derbyshire County Councillor for Bakewell since 1997 and a Derbyshire Dales District Councillor for Bakewell since 1983. Previously she was a Bakewell town councillor and held the position of Mayor of Bakewell three times.
She has lived and worked in the Peak District National Park all her life, and chaired and been involved with many local community groups.
