Our members and staff hold regular meetings to carry out the business of the National Park Authority. There are six committee meetings.
Full Authority meeting
The full Authority meeting works to set overall strategies on policies, plans and programmes, including the Local Development Scheme and the National Park Management Plan. It also deals with constitutional issues affecting the Authority and agrees resources for the Authority's services through the annual budget.

The planning committee meets once a month at 10am on the second Friday of the month to consider planning applications, appeals and enforcement issues.

Audit, resources and performance committee
This committee monitors and reviews the corporate governance and performance of the Authority to ensure that it is providing a best-value service. The committee considers annual reports from district and internal auditors, approves the annual accounts and regularly reviews the Authority's services.
It also deals with staffing and other resource issues, conservation, estate and property management, visitor information, environmental education, access, ranger services, traffic management, forestry, landscape, farming and management agreements.

Local joint committee
This is a joint committee of Authority members and staff. The committee handles matters relating to terms and condition of employment, the education and training of employees, and health and safety issues .

Urgent items sub-committee
This committee deals with matters that need an urgent decision that cannot wait for the next full Authority meeting or a committee, but do not justify calling a special meeting.
