Corporate Privacy Notice

Our Privacy Notice explains how we use your personal data, describes the categories of personal data we process and for what purposes. We are committed to collecting and using such data fairly and in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act.

Who we are

We are the Peak District National Park Authority and our purpose is to further the enjoyment, protection and conservation of the Peak District National Park.  Our Privacy Notice explains your privacy rights and how we collect, use and share information about you. Your rights

You have the right to object to how we process your personal information. You also have the right to access, correct and request we delete and restrict the personal information we use. In addition you have a right to complain to us and to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner. How we collect personal information

In addition to the information you provide us directly, we collect personal information in a number of ways - sometimes for your safety and legal reasons we collect personal information by recording and monitoring telephone calls made to our Customer and Democratic Support team and from CCTV images. How we use personal information

We use your personal information to contact you, to provide you with services and enforce our legal rights (including debt recovery), and to improve and market our services. We may need to use sensitive personal information such as health information to provide you with some of our services such as guided walks or when you sign up to volunteer with us. By providing us with this information we can make sure that we give you the right support and manage emergency situations appropriately.  Find out more about how we use your personal information in Section 6 of the full Privacy Notice.

Our services

We need some personal information before we can provide you with services, for example for processing planning applications and providing grant funding, or responding to an enquiry or request for information. It may be difficult to provide you with some of our services if we don’t have the right information. Find out more in Section 6 of the full Privacy Notice.

Sharing and transferring personal information

We share information with our suppliers and other third parties where needed to provide you with the best service. Where you have opted into to receive information from the Peak District National Park Foundation then contact details will be shared to enable them to fulfil the request. We may also share information with regulators and law enforcement. Personal information may be transferred to other countries outside the UK for limited purposes related to storing the information, but only where we are satisfied that suitable protection is in place. Sections 8 and 9 of the full Privacy Notice will give you further details about this.

Retaining personal information

We keep personal information securely for as long as we need to for the purpose described in Section 10 of the full Privacy Notice.

Your consent

Sometimes we need your consent to use your personal information (for example sending you newsletters or for other marketing purposes). We won’t always need your consent to use personal information – for example, if we need it to meet a legal obligation or if we are entering into a contract with you, or to fulfil a contract with you.  Where you’ve given us consent, you have a right to withdraw it at any time.  See Sections 11 and 12 of the full Privacy Notice

Our partners

We work with partners to ensure that we are able to meet the aims of the National Park. We may share information with those partners to help us achieve this. Wherever we share personal information we will inform you of this and if, required, ask for your consent to share your information. See Section 6 of the full Privacy Notice for more information
