Opening times

We've done everything we can to open centres but we've had to make some changes to our opening times due to Covid-19 restrictions.

  • Monday - 10am to 4.30pm
  • Tuesday - 10am to 4.30pm
  • Wednesday - 10am to 4.30pm
  • Thursday - 10am to 4.30pm
  • Friday - 10am to 4.30pm
  • Saturday - 10am to 4.30pm
  • Sunday – 10am - 4.30pm

Closed 30 minutes for lunch.

What to expect

To ensure the safety of our visitors and staff we've reduced the number of people we can welcome at one time. Please help us to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and follow these guidelines when visiting our centres. Thank you.

  • 4 customers permitted in the premises at any one time - please wait to be invited in by a member of the team.
  • Visitors will be invited on a one in one out basis.
  • Please keep to the left and follow arrows.
  • Cashless payment preferred.
  • Please use the hand sanitiser when entering the building.
  • Leaflets – please browse with eyes only or take with you once you have touched.
  • Browse with eyes only – no handling of goods.
  • No toilet facilities inside – please use public toilets on Granby Road next to Boots.

Contact details

Bakewell Visitor Centre is fully accessible and ideally placed to welcome you to Bakewell and the 'White Peak' when you arrive. The centre is located in the atmospheric 17th century Old Market Hall.


The Peak District Photography Gallery has been created to highlight the special qualities of the National Park and offers visitors the opportunity to experience the wonderful, dramatic landscapes of this inspiring part of the UK, while supporting local professional landscape and wildlife photographers in the display and sale of their work. The gallery, located upstairs on the mezzanine floor, presents a visual celebration of the Peak District National Park and has a number of exhibitions planned throughout the year.
