The Learning and Discovery Team offers a range of activities to support learning, working with many different organisations and institutions, from schools and youth groups to family and community groups. We deliver from various locations and centres around the Park - from the gritstone edges above Hathersage to the limestone dales around Hartington.

School visits - Now open for bookings for Summer term
We are currently taking bookings for April 19th onwards (Subject to government advice on school trips restarting from the 29th March) We are offering a limited range of field visits, as well as online learning opportunities and visits to deliver activities in your school setting. Please be assured that we will only carry out activities that are Covid-secure and in line with current government guidance. We will be following government advice and looking to open our full service when able.

We strive to make our visits accessible to all. While many of our sites are accessible to people with limited mobility, it would be wise to discuss your particular needs with us before booking.
We assess learning using a variety of techniques appropriate to the age and ability of the pupils and the type of activity such as: questioning, questioning games, observing how well children are performing tasks, checking results, quizzes and feedback forms. All group leaders will be asked to complete a feedback form after their visit. We hope you will find time to do this as we use this information to improve our programmes
