Neighbourhood areas

The following have been designated as neighbourhood areas:

Great Hucklow and Foolow

Great Hucklow and Foolow neighbourhood area, which includes the villages and hamlets of Foolow, Grindlow, Great Hucklow, Windmill, Little Hucklow and Coplowdale, was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 12th October 2018.  The area is the same as the 2 parish areas of Great Hucklow and Foolow. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Great Hucklow Parish Council with the consent of Foolow Parish Meeting.

Brampton

Brampton neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 13th July 2018 and by North East Derbyshire District Council on 22nd June 2018. The area is the same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Brampton Parish Council.

Saddleworth

Saddleworth neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 11th November 2016 and by Oldham Council on 21st November 2016. The area is the same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Saddleworth Parish Council.

Chinley Buxworth and Brownside

Chinley Buxworth and Brownside neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 15 July 2016 and by High Peak Borough Council on 21 July 2016. The area is same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Chinley Buxworth and Brownside Parish Council.

Leekfrith

Leekfrith neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 13 March 2015 and by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council on 24 March 2015. The area is same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Leekfrith Parish Council.

Holme Valley

Holme Valley neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 13 February 2015 and by Kirklees Council on 27 January 2015. The area is the same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Holme Valley Parish Council.

Whaley Bridge & Furness Vale

Whaley Bridge and Furness Vale neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 13 September 2013 and by High Peak Borough Council on 24 October 2013. The area is the same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Whaley Bridge Town Council.

Bradwell

Bradwell neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 8 March 2013. The area is the same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Bradwell Parish Council.

Chapel-en-le-Frith

Chapel-en-le-Frith neighbourhood area is the same as the parish area and was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 14 December 2012 and by High Peak Borough Council on 11 April 2013. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Chapel-en-le-Frith Parish Council.

Hartington Town Quarter

Hartington neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 8 February 2013. The area is the same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Hartington Town Quarter Parish Council.

Bakewell

Bakewell neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 15 November 2013. The area is the same as the civil parish area. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Bakewell Town Council.

Dore

Dore neighbourhood area was designated by the Peak District National Park Authority on 13 October 2014 and by Sheffield City Council on 16 October 2014. The relevant body that applied for the designation is Dore Village Society.

Dore Village Society was re-designated as the neighbourhood forum responsible for writing the neighbourhood development plan for Dore neighbourhood area on 16 October 2019.
