Planning Data
Peak District National Park Authority (PDNPA) provides planning data in accordance with the Government's Planning Data Platform (ODP) standards. The datasets below provide information about the PDNPA Local Plan 2026–2045 and the Authority's plan-making timetable, including the minerals and waste planning elements of the Local Plan.
The datasets are provided through live ArcGIS data services and are available for reuse under the Open Government Licence.

Local Plan
Summary
Peak District National Park Local Plan 2026–2045, providing the planning policy framework for development and land use within the National Park.
Description
The Peak District National Park Local Plan 2026–2045 sets out the planning policies and framework for managing development, protecting the special qualities of the National Park and supporting sustainable communities and economic activity.
The new Local Plan will replace the adopted Core Strategy (2011) and Development Management Policies (2019), bringing the Authority's planning policies together into a single plan covering the period to 2045.
The Publication Draft Local Plan is currently being progressed through Regulation 19 consultation before submission for independent examination.

This dataset represents the minerals planning element of the Peak District National Park Local Plan 2026–2045.
It provides the planning policy framework for minerals development within the National Park, including the management of mineral resources and the environmental, landscape and other considerations associated with mineral extraction.
Minerals policies are incorporated within the single Local Plan 2026–2045 rather than being published as a separate minerals plan document. The dataset is provided separately to meet the Government's Planning Data Platform requirements for minerals planning data.

Waste Plan

Description
This dataset represents the waste planning element of the Peak District National Park Local Plan 2026–2045.
It provides the planning policy framework for waste development and the management of waste facilities within the National Park, taking account of environmental, landscape, sustainability and other planning considerations.
Waste policies are incorporated within the single Local Plan 2026–2045 rather than being published as a separate waste plan document. The dataset is provided separately to meet the Government's Planning Data Platform requirements for waste planning data.

Combined Plan Timetable

Description
This dataset provides the plan timetable information for the Peak District National Park Authority's Local Plan 2026–2045.
It records key stages in the preparation of the plan, including consultation, submission, examination and adoption. The timetable covers the Authority's local planning, minerals planning and waste planning responsibilities, which are brought together within the single Local Plan 2026–2045.
The timetable contains confirmed dates where these are known and planned future dates where the Authority has published an intended timetable. Future dates may be subject to change as the plan progresses through the statutory plan-making process.
A summary of the current Local Plan timetable is also provided below for ease of reference.
Current timetable
- Regulation 19 consultation on Publication Draft: 27 July 2026 to 20 September 2026
- Intended submission to the Secretary of State: Autumn/Winter 2026, with the Authority intending to submit the plan by December 2026.
- Examination: Following submission, the plan will be subject to independent examination by a Planning Inspector.
- Adoption: Subject to the outcome of examination and the subsequent statutory process.
