Tree Preservation Order datasets were enhanced as part of this funding and are available from this page within our Open Digital Planning section.

Open Digital Planning data

For open-data and data-reuse purposes, the information is provided as three related datasets:

Tree Preservation Orders

Contains table related information about the Tree Preservation Orders themselves, including the order reference and relevant order information.

Tree Preservation Zones

Contains spatial information for areas protected by a TPO, including areas, groups and woodlands.

Individual Trees

Contains spatial information for individual trees protected by a TPO.

These datasets are intended primarily for specialist users and data reuse, including planning professionals, developers, researchers, GIS users and organisations wishing to incorporate the data into their own systems.

The three datasets form part of the same TPO information and should not be treated as three alternative public-facing maps. In particular, the absence of an individual tree or a TPO zone in one dataset does not necessarily mean that a property or tree is unaffected by a TPO.
