We’re excited to announce that the installation of another Changing Places facility is currently underway, this time at the Trentabank Centre, Macclesfield Forest.

As part of refurbishments to improve accessibility, this project has been jointly funded by Peak District National Park Authority, United Utilities and Access4All.
The Changing Places facility includes an accessible toilet, a height adjustable changing table and a ceiling hoist - electrically operated for ease of use by family, friends or carers.
This will be the fifth primary Changing Places facility in the Peak District National Park. Two of these are located alongside our 35-mile network of traffic-free accessible routes along former railway lines at Millers Dale in September 2024, with the second opening at Parsley Hay in June of this year.
At the opening of the Changing Places facility at Parsley Hay in June 2025. Attended by National Park CEO Phil Mulligan with Cllr Rob Reaney, Gillian from Accessible UK (all centre) and joined by colleagues, volunteers and fundraisers.
There is a full list of Changing Places facilities available across the UK.
Works to install the facility began 27 October and are due to be completed by 12 December. There will be temporary public WCs located in the car park from 8 November, however, there will not be a wheelchair accessible facility during this time.
Planned improvements to the Trentabank car park will also be taking place and the car park will close between 4 - 7 November.
The installation of this facility means that more people will be able to enjoy our national park and all the benefits of outdoors.
This project has been made possible by the 'Defra Access For All' funding programme, which is also adding a new Miles without Stiles route to complement it.
