Comprehensive Equality Scheme
Comprehensive Equality Scheme
As a public authority, the Peak District National Park Authority has certain legal requirements under existing legislation to promote equality in the areas of disability and gender.
These are often collectively referred to as the general duties to promote equality. To help us meet the general equality duties, we also have specific duties, such as the requirement to produce and publish an equality scheme.
This scheme sets out what we will do to meet the general and specific duties and extends them to include the other areas of equality we cover – race, age, religion or belief and sexual orientation, as well as human rights.
Update- December 2008
A new version of
the scheme was adopted on 5 December 2008.
