Seasonal Change in the Peak District

A programme of seasonal change for the winter months. Through a range of games, children will discover how some wildlife prepares for winter. They will make a nest for a dormouse to hibernate in, testing different materials – can they keep their dormouse warmer than Dopey Dormouse? This is a scientific enquiry in the natural world.

During November and December at the Moorland Discovery Centre this programme can be joined with visiting the Christmas tree nurse and making natural Christmas decorations to take home. A great winter visit for EYFS and Y1.

Teachers comments:

'Fantastic, loved the good mix of indoor/outdoor activities. Children were engaged all day. Love the link to maths.'
